The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard, in collaboration with the MNDF Air Corps, has intercepted three foreign fishing vessels operating illegally within the country's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
According to information released by the MNDF, the vessels were seized on the night of October 12, 2026, during a special joint surveillance operation conducted approximately 170 nautical miles west of Ari Atoll.
The military authority confirmed that operations are currently underway to escort all three foreign vessels to Male'.
