Discussions Held on Expanding Mariculture Industry in N. Kendhikulhudhoo

Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam met today with the Kendhikulhudhoo Council and MP Mohamed Afoo Hamid to discuss expanding fisheries and mariculture in N. Kendhikulhudhoo.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, Minister Shiyam shared the latest progress updates regarding the Kendhikulhudhoo neighborhood fish processing factory. Discussions also covered new economic opportunities available in both the fisheries and agriculture sectors for the island.

A major focus of the meeting was exploring potential opportunities to establish and develop a thriving mariculture industry in Kendhikulhudhoo, alongside key strategic measures needed to promote sector growth.

The meeting was attended by Kendhikulhudhoo Island Council President Hamdhoon Ali and members of the council. Ministry representation included State Minister Aaminath Hussein Shareef, State Minister Mohamed Muthalib, and senior Ministry officials.
