Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) has officially launched public services at its newly established fuel terminal in Lh. Felivaru, introducing subsidized diesel access for local fishermen and enhancing fueling infrastructure in the northern atolls.
According to Fuel Supply Maldives, a subsidiary of the State Trading Organization (STO), the official commencement of terminal operations will provide significant convenience to fishermen and other marine vessels operating in the region. The company highlighted that the facility will shorten travel distances to fueling points, saving valuable time and operational costs for vessel operators.
The terminal enables fishermen to refuel directly at subsidized diesel rates immediately after weighing and offloading their catch at the Felivaru Fisheries Complex. Fuel Supply Maldives noted that establishing this direct refuel arrangement offers a permanent solution to long-standing supply challenges, directly improving operational efficiency and supporting fishermen's livelihoods.
Fuel Supply Maldives stated that expanding its nationwide fuel distribution network remains a key strategic goal to deliver reliable, high-quality services to customers. The company anticipates that the operationalization of the Felivaru fuel terminal will boost the northern fishing fleet and stimulate broader regional economic activity.
