Hoandedhdhoo Council Invites Bids to Lease Land for Slipway Development

The Secretariat of the South Huvadhu Atoll Hoandedhdhoo Council has officially opened bidding for interested parties to lease a designated plot of land for the development of a slipway on the island.

According to the Hoandedhdhoo Council, the plot allocated for this maritime project measures 100,000 square feet (250' x 400'), as demarcated in the official site chart published alongside the council’s public announcement.

The Hoandedhdhoo Council announced that bid forms are available for purchase at MVR 3,000 per form starting 30 September 2026 through 01 November 2026 during official working hours at the council's counter in Hoandedhdhoo. Applicants can also purchase forms online via the Hoandedhdhoo Council’s Vaarugey portal. The council highlighted that the deadline for form payments, both in cash and online, is set for 01 November 2026 at 2:00 PM, while the final deadline for bid submissions is 02 November 2026 at 1:30 PM.

According to the Hoandedhdhoo Council, eligibility to participate in the bidding process is restricted exclusively to entities registered under the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade. The council specified that all proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes to be considered valid.

For corporate entities and cooperatives, the Hoandedhdhoo Council requires a formal authorization letter featuring the representative's name and National ID card number, alongside a copy of the company's registration or profile sheet. For individual sole proprietorships utilizing a representative, the council mandates an authorization letter from the primary bid owner.

The Hoandedhdhoo Council confirmed that each applicant may submit only one bid form per land plot and noted that comprehensive information sheets detailing the lease terms are available directly from the council.
