Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam Meets M. Vevah Council to Discuss Sector Opportunities and Regional Infrastructure

Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam met yesterday with members of the M. Vevah Council at the ministry headquarters in Malé to discuss growth opportunities across the fisheries and agricultural sectors.

During the meeting, discussions focused on prospective regional economic opportunities and specialized credit facilities tailored for fisheries and agricultural development. Minister Shiyam also briefed the council on upcoming technical and practical training programs conducted by the ministry to build capacity among local workers.

Additionally, Minister Shiyam updated the Vevah Council on the progress of key regional infrastructure projects, specifically highlighting the latest developments and construction timeline of the new cold storage facility and ice plant currently being established in M. Mulah.

The meeting was attended by Minister Ahmed Shiyam, State Ministers Aminath Hussain Shareef and Mohamed Muthalib, senior ministry officials, and members of the M. Vevah Council.
