Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Marine Resources Ahmed Shiyam met with the Council of GA. Villingili yesterday at the Ministry to discuss key fisheries development initiatives for the island.
The meeting, held at the Ministry, was attended by Minister Shiyam alongside senior ministry officials and members of the Villingili Council.
During the discussions, the council requested the re-installation of the Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) that had drifted away near the island. Given that Villingili has a large population and a prominent fishing community, both parties also explored the possibility of establishing a MIFCO fish shop on the island.
Additionally, Minister Shiyam shared updates with the council regarding ongoing government projects on GA.Kooddoo.
