IITE Maritime School to Launch Coastal Navigation Course in M. Mulah

IITE Maritime Academy is gearing up to conduct another batch of the Certificate 2 in Navigation (Niyamikamu) course in M. Mulah.

According to IITE Maritime School, classes will run from September 13 to 16. Interested participants can now register by calling 7921961. The school noted that the course is open to anyone who can converse in Dhivehi and English, possesses basic arithmetic skills, and can comprehend the course material.

Paving the way for securing master/captain licenses for Category B, C, and D vessels, the 30-hour training is conducted with approval from the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade. The curriculum covers core maritime regulations, sea safety and rescue, operation of communication tools, and marine navigation.

IITE Maritime School is among the longest-running maritime training institutes in the Maldives, having conducted numerous successful batches of the Coastal Navigation Certificate-2 course across Malé and the atolls. Alongside the Certificate 2, the academy also offers Certificate 1 courses, crew training, and marine mechanic programs.
