B. Goidhoo Island Council has announced plans to recruit an examiner for practical driving tests as it prepares to issue sea vessel driving licenses locally.
The initiative follows a decision by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade permitting island councils to administer and issue motorized sea vessel licenses, provided they meet set standards.
Candidate Requirements
Must have held a marine vessel driving license for at least one year with active operating experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with Coastal Navigation certification and qualifications across multiple vessel categories.
The examiner will receive a fee of MVR 40 per applicant tested.
Interested applicants must submit a copy of their marine license, navigation certificate, national ID card copy, and a recent police clearance report (not older than three months) to info@baagoidhoo.gov.mv before 14:00 hrs on 21 September 2026. Further inquiries can be directed to the council at 6600005.
