Gemanafushi Council Invites Bids for Lagoon Plots Allocated to Seaweed Farming

The Secretariat of the Gaafu Alifu Gemanafushi Council has opened competitive bidding for lagoon space allocated for commercial seaweed farming within the island’s maritime jurisdiction.

According to the official gazette announcement, interested parties are invited to attend an information session at the council secretariat on Thursday, September 10, at 13:00. The deadline for submitting sealed bid proposals is set for Tuesday, September 15, at 13:00, also at the council office.

Specific planning details—including plot allocations, lease terms, and operational guidelines—will be disclosed to proponents during the September 10 information session.
