The Secretariat of the Shaviyani Kanditheemu Council has announced vacancies for examiners to conduct practical driving tests required for the issuance of marine vessel operating licenses. The council highlighted that this opportunity is open to both men and women as a part-time role to earn supplementary income alongside existing employment.
According to the Kanditheemu Council, the practical assessments—conducted for licenses issued by the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade—will take place at designated times and locations determined by the council. A total of two examiners are being recruited for maritime vessels.
Eligible candidates must hold a valid Coastal Navigation Certificate, possess a marine vessel driving license issued at least five years ago, and have at least one year of vessel operation experience. Additionally, applicants must have a clean record free of regulatory violations or criminal convictions over the past five years, be under 55 years of age, and be in good health. The council has set the remuneration at MVR 25.00 per tested vessel.
Interested individuals are requested to submit copies of a valid national identity card, driving license, and coastal navigation certificate via the council's designated Google Form before 14:00 hrs on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
