Minister Shiyam Meets US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires

Minister of Fisheries Agriculture and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam met today with Mr. David Williams, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America to the Maldives, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in fisheries and agriculture.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Fisheries Agriculture and Ocean Resources in Malé, with senior officials from both the Ministry and the US Embassy in attendance.

During the discussions, Minister Shiyam briefed Mr. Williams on the government’s strategic policies aimed at tackling key challenges across the fisheries and agricultural industries. Deliberations centered on enhancing logistical networks, improving supply chain efficiency, and facilitating broader trade opportunities for Maldivian products in both sectors.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening engagement and exploring avenues for collaborative development to support the sustainability and growth of these vital economic sectors.
