The Raa Maduvvari Council has officially opened the bidding process for leasing five land plots dedicated to fish cooking, drying, and other fisheries-related commercial operations.
Issued under council announcement number (IUL)308/2026/34 on August 17, 2026, the initiative aims to boost local fisheries by offering commercial space exclusively to businesses registered in R. Maduvvari. The auction features a total of five land plots, with an initial starting bid rate set at MVR 1.00 per square foot.
The five plots available for bid include:
Plot 746: 1,525.00 sq ft
Plot 747: 1,275.00 sq ft
Plot 748: 1,025.00 sq ft
Plot 749: 1,431.00 sq ft
Plot 750: 1,800.00 sq ft
According to the Council winning bidders will be granted full authority to construct buildings and establish the necessary infrastructure on the leased land.
To participate, interested parties must pre-register online using the council's designated registration link prior to submitting their bids, as unregistered proposals will strictly not be accepted. All price quotes must be submitted in Maldivian Rufiyaa inside a sealed envelope marked with the announcement number, accompanied by a copy of the bidder's National Identity Card.
The deadline for bid registration and proposal submission is August 23, 2026, at 13:00 hrs. Official bid opening will take place on August 24, 2026, at 13:00 hrs, with the council's Bid Evaluation Committee evaluating all proposals based 100% on price criteria.
