Agreement Signed to Establish a 5-Ton Ice Plant in AA. Ukulhas

An agreement has been officially signed to establish a 5-tonne ice plant in Alif Alif Atoll Ukulhas, as part of the government's efforts to enhance local fisheries infrastructure.

The signing ceremony was graced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The President attended the ceremony during his ongoing tour of the islands to connect closely with local communities.

Project management consultancy for the development has been awarded to Iheli Construction and Trading. Under the agreement signed, the construction of the ice plant is scheduled to be completed within five months.

The new facility is expected to significantly ease access to ice and provide vital support to local fishermen on the island.
