The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert covering the region from Noonu Atoll to Vaavu Atoll.
The alert remains in effect from 14:30 hrs to 19:00 hrs across the central atolls.

During this period, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the designated area.
The institution forecasted strong winds of 19 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 50 miles per hour, and rough seas.
The weather advisory was officially issued on August 1, 2026.
