Kandoothirimu starts selling ice to fishermen

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has officially commenced selling ice to fishing vessels from its newly established ice plant in Kanduoiygiri.

The facility, which features a daily production capacity of 25 metric tons, began issuing ice to local boats today. The fishing vessel "Blue Cobia" became the very first boat to be supplied from the new plant.

MIFCO stated that the rollout brings significant convenience to fishers operating around the Malé region by streamlining their access to essential supplies.

The launch follows the recent opening of a new fish processing factory on the island on the 14th of this month, further expanding commercial marine services in the area.
