The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources (MFAOR) has opened the opportunity for recreational and sport fishers to participate in a consultation workshop to develop a management plan.
The workshop is scheduled to be held in Malé on 15 August 2026, from 09:00 to 14:00.
The exact venue in the capital will be confirmed at a later date.
The Ministry stated that interested participants must register for the workshop via the provided online link or QR code before 2 August 2026.
The Ministry added that travel expenses for the participants will be covered by the state.
This upcoming session is the second round of a consultation workshop series conducted by the Ministry, supported by TransFORM and the World Bank, to draft the Recreational Fishery Management Plan and Regulation and gather experiences from stakeholders.
