The National Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for all northern atolls, forecasting strong winds and rough seas.
The white alert issued for the northern atolls from 02:00 pm to 06:00 pm states that winds will blow at speeds between 25 and 30 miles per hour in these atolls. The National Meteorological Centre also forecasts that winds may gust up to 45 miles per hour during showers, resulting in rough seas.
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Centre stated that rain is expected across various regions, with heavy showers and thunderstorms possible in some islands. Winds will generally blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 15 and 25 miles per hour, and may gust up to approximately 45 miles per hour during showers.
Seas are generally expected to be rough across all regions, with wave heights ranging from 4 to 7 feet.
Due to the bad weather, the National Meteorological Centre has advised everyone to be cautious of the weather conditions.
