White alert issued for the entire Maldives due to bad weather

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a white alert for the entire Maldives, anticipating bad weather.

The alert is issued from 13:15 to 18:15. During the alert period, the Maldives Meteorological Service predicts winds between 19 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour, and rough seas.

The Maldives Meteorological Service previously forecasted that the Southwest Monsoon would intensify across various regions of the Maldives, bringing rain to different parts of the country and thunderstorms to some islands. As strong winds and rough seas are expected, the agency has urged seafarers to be cautious and stay updated with the latest weather information.

Due to the bad weather, the Maldives Meteorological Service has urged everyone to be cautious of the weather. The Police have also urged everyone to be safe from the weather, especially seafarers, to check the weather before starting their journey and to act in accordance with weather alerts. They also reminded to ensure safety measures are complete before starting the journey and to have all passengers wear life jackets.
