The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a white alert for Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.
The white alert is effective for the two atolls from 12:00 pm to 04:00 pm, as heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected.
White alert issued for southern atolls
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the national meteorological agency stated that rain and thunderstorms are likely in some atolls. Winds are expected to blow from the northwest and north at speeds between 5 and 15 miles per hour.
According to MET, the seas will be generally calm. Wave heights will be between 2 to 4 feet.
