A White Alert has been issued for the northern atolls due to bad weather.
The alert issued by the National Meteorological Service for the northern atolls from 16:00 to 21:00 tonight states that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected. Furthermore, winds are expected to blow between 19 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. Seas are also expected to be rough.
The National Meteorological Service stated that seas will be rough across all areas of the Maldives today. Wave heights are estimated to be between 5 to 7 feet.
