White Alert Issued for Large Area Due to Expected Rough Seas

The National Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert from HA to F atoll, anticipating rough seas.

The White Alert, issued from 01:15 PM this afternoon until 07:00 PM tonight, states that winds are expected to blow between 19 to 24 miles per hour in the alerted atolls. It also forecasts rough seas.

Forecasting the weather for the Maldives until 10:00 PM tonight, the National Meteorological Service stated that rain is expected in various areas, with heavy rain and thunderstorms likely in some islands. The agency also mentioned that winds will blow from the west and northwest at speeds between 13 to 23 miles per hour, and may gust up to approximately 40 miles per hour during squalls.

As bad weather is anticipated, the MET Office has urged everyone to be cautious of the weather.
