White Alert Issued for Large Area Anticipating Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

A White Alert has been issued from HA. Atoll to V. Atoll, anticipating heavy rain and strong winds.

The White Alert was issued for this area from 12:00 pm to 06:00 pm, anticipating heavy rain and thunderstorms. It is also predicted that winds may gust up to 40 miles per hour during showers.

Forecasting the weather for the Maldives over the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Center stated that rain is expected in various areas, with heavy rain and thunderstorms likely in some islands. Winds are expected to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 10 and 20 miles per hour. It also stated that winds could gust up to 40 miles per hour during showers.

Seas are expected to be moderately rough today and rough during showers, with wave heights predicted to be between four and six feet.
