White Alert issued for Fuvahmulah and Addu City with winds expected to reach 40 mph

The National Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert from Fuvahmulah City to Addu City.

The White Alert, issued from 01:00 PM to 06:00 PM today, states that heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect the region. It is also estimated that winds will gust up to 40 mph during showers.

Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Service stated that rain is expected in various areas in the afternoon, with possible thunderstorms in some islands. Winds are expected to blow from the northeast and east at speeds between 8 mph and 18 mph.

According to the National Meteorological Service, seas will be moderately rough today. Wave heights are expected to be between 3 to 5 feet.
