White alert issued for a large area forecasting winds up to 40 mph

The National Meteorological Centre has issued a white alert for a large area, forecasting winds up to 40 mph.

The white alert has been issued from HA Atoll to Th Atoll, effective from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The alert was issued forecasting heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area. It is also forecasted that winds will gust up to 40 mph during showers.

In the weather forecast published by the National Meteorological Centre for the next 24 hours, it is stated that rain and thunderstorms are expected in various areas. It also stated that heavy rain is likely in some islands.

Winds are forecasted to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 10 mph and 20 mph. Additionally, winds are expected to gust up to approximately 40 mph during showers.

The Met Office stated that seas will be moderately rough and rough during showers, with wave heights expected to be between 4 to 7 feet.
