White Alert issued for a large area forecasting 40 mph winds

The National Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert for a large area, forecasting winds up to 40 mph.

The White Alert is effective from B. Atoll to Th. Atoll between 11:00 am and 05:00 pm.

The alert was issued forecasting heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area. It is also estimated that winds will gust up to 40 mph during showers.

In the weather forecast published by the National Meteorological Service for the next 24 hours, it stated that rain and thunderstorms are expected across various parts of the Maldives, with heavy rainfall likely in some islands.

Winds are expected from the northeast and east at speeds between 7 and 17 mph. Gusts may reach approximately 40 mph during showers. Seas are expected to be moderate across all areas, becoming rough during showers. Wave heights are estimated at 3-6 feet. Additionally, the National Meteorological Service states that swell waves may affect some islands during high tide.

Due to the bad weather, the National Meteorological Service has urged everyone to be cautious of the weather.
