White Alert: Heavy rain expected in some atolls

The National Meteorological Centre has issued a White Alert for several atolls.

The White Alert is effective from 05:30 at dawn until 11:00 in the morning, covering the area from B. Atoll to GDh. Atoll.

The Met Office issued the White Alert forecasting heavy rain and thunderstorms for these atolls. It is also forecasted that winds may gust up to 40 miles per hour during showers.

The Met Office stated that rain is expected across various parts of the Maldives today, with heavy rain and thunderstorms likely in some islands.

Winds are expected to blow from the west and northwest at speeds between 8 to 18 miles per hour. Additionally, the Met Office stated that winds may gust up to approximately 35 miles per hour during showers.

Seas are expected to be moderately rough today, becoming rough during showers. Wave heights are estimated to be between 3 to 6 feet.
