Vilufushi FAD Deployed

The Th. Vilufushi pole-and-line FAD has been deployed.

The Vilufushi FAD was redeployed after the previous FAD snapped and was lost. The previous FAD for the island was located 9 miles east of the island. The FAD newly deployed yesterday was established 10 miles east of the island.

The number of the FAD deployed yesterday is L09D03-02.

As part of the Fisheries Ministry's ongoing efforts to expand the FAD network, a team from the ministry is currently active in the central regions of the Maldives. Last Sunday, a new trolling FAD was deployed in M. Kolhufushi. That FAD was deployed 7 miles southeast of M. Dhihthundi.
