A fishing competition has been scheduled in GA. Vilingili to celebrate the upcoming Eid al-Adha.
The Vilingili Council stated that the competition, named "Citizens' Fishing Competition 2025", is being held with the objective of familiarising youth with the fishing industry, fostering friendship among the citizens, and reviving the social spirit of the community. The competition is scheduled to be held on June 9. The council noted that the date of the tournament may change if the weather does not permit.
Cash prizes have been offered to the winning teams in the fishing competition. The team catching the most fish will be selected based on the total number of fish caught by the teams, and the person catching the biggest fish will be selected based on the weight after the fish are weighed, the council said.
