The Global Maritime Crime Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has donated safety equipment to the MNDF Coast Guard.
Funded by the European Union Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, the equipment was handed over at a ceremony held yesterday at the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Villimale.
The equipment was handed over on behalf of UNODC by the Head of Office of Maldives, Enrico Boninsegna. Commandant of the MNDF Coast Guard, Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem, received the equipment on behalf of the MNDF Coast Guard.
