A trolling Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) has been deployed off the coast of Sh. Nalandhoo.
The Fisheries Ministry stated that the Nalandhoo trolling FAD is established 4 miles southeast of Nalandhoo. The FAD number is D09V02.

Last year, the Fisheries Ministry also deployed a trolling FAD off Sh. Funadhoo. That FAD is located 4.5 miles east of the island.
Trolling FADs, established at a distance between 3 and 6 miles around the islands, are specially designed for trolling and sports fishing. The trolling FAD is designed with a light visible from afar and a radar reflector to easily identify its location.
