A trolling Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) dedicated to reef fishing or sports fishing has been deployed off the coast of B. Maaddoo.
The Fisheries Ministry deployed this FAD today, 6 miles east of Maaddoo. The FAD number is F09V04.

With this newly established FAD, the number of trolling FADs deployed in B Atoll has reached 2. The other trolling FAD is located 5 miles east of B. Madhirivaadhoo.
There are also 4 FADs dedicated to pole-and-line fishing in B Atoll. The areas where these FADs are deployed are:
- 12.6 miles northwest of Thulhaadhoo
- 10 miles west of Thulhaadhoo
- 14 miles west of Fulhadhoo
- 9 miles west of Kashifushi
The work of deploying trolling FADs and pole-and-line FADs is being carried out by a technical team from the Fisheries Ministry. While the team is deploying new FADs in various regions of the Maldives under a specific policy, they also repair lost or damaged FADs during these trips.
