The Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that seas will be moderately rough today.
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Service said that rain and thunderstorms are expected in some islands today as well.
Today's Weather: Seas to be moderately rough
Winds are expected to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 8 and 18 miles per hour. The Met Office also stated that winds may gust up to 35 miles per hour during showers.
While seas are expected to be moderately rough today, wave heights are estimated to be between 3 to 6 feet.
The Meteorological Service has now issued a White Alert for the southern atolls. The alert is effective from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, forecasting tidal swells in those atolls.
