Today's weather: Rain expected in the north

The Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that rain is expected across various parts of the north today.

The agency said that rain will fall in the northern atolls, and thunderstorms are also likely in some islands of the region. Furthermore, while some islands in the central Maldives may experience showers, the Met Office has stated that the weather will generally be fine in the southern atolls today.

Winds will blow from the southeast and south in the southern atolls, and from the southwest and west in other areas at a speed between 5 to 15 miles per hour.

The Met Office also stated that the seas will be relatively calm today, with wave heights between 2 to 4 feet.
