The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has stated that the third missing person from the landing craft "Almak-Fiya", which capsized while travelling from Male' to K. Eriyadu, was found dead last night.
The 100-foot landing craft "Almak-Fiya" capsized 1.3 nautical miles southeast of K. Thulhaagiri on Thursday of last week. The Sri Lankan national was the last missing person being searched for. MNDF stated that his body was found floating between K. Aailafushi and Villa Nautica last night. He is a male from Sri Lanka.
When the landing craft capsized, 3 of the 7 people travelling on it went missing. While 4 people who fell overboard in this incident were rescued, all three missing people were found dead. A Maldivian was also among the missing.
