The deadline to apply for the position of MIFCO CEO expires tomorrow!

The deadline for the announcement made by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) seeking a Chief Executive Officer for the state fisheries company, Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), will expire tomorrow.

The PCB opened the opportunity for interested parties to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the position of MIFCO CEO on September 29.

The PCB's announcement stated that parties interested in the CEO position are requested to send their cover letter, a CV demonstrating their capacity to perform the services (such as a statement of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills), academic certificates, and relevant reference letters to the designated email before 1400 hrs on October 8, 2024.

The PCB announcement states that education and experience will be considered in selecting a person for the CEO position, and the selected candidate will be given a salary between $12,000 and $15,000, in addition to an annual bonus. It also stated that the agreement with the selected candidate will be for a period of four years.

The position of MIFCO CEO became vacant after Ahmed Samah Rasheed, who held the position, was dismissed from the post and the company's board of directors on May 21 this year. MIFCO has been operating without a CEO for four months. MIFCO is currently being run temporarily by Ilyas Haneef, who holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of the company.
