Teams participating in "Burunu Boma" depart from Male'

Teams participating in the Maldives' largest sports fishing tournament, "Burunu Boma", have departed from Male'.

A total of 9 teams are participating in this tournament. The teams are Siren of the Sea, Captain Boat Club, Silent Hunter, Baros Maldives, Ifuru, Team Dubai, Malahini, Shuruno, and Dash Maldives.

The last to depart from Male' was Team Shuruno. The team left Male' around 6:30 pm tonight.

Other teams participating in the tournament also departed from Male' at various times today.

The tournament will begin at 5:00 am tomorrow morning. Fishing for the tournament will continue until 6:00 pm on May 4.

As the tournament runs until May 4, the first-place team will receive a cash prize of $25,000.

This tournament, open to international and Maldivian teams, was launched on December 23 last year. This is the largest sports fishing tournament held in the Maldives, opened to international teams for the first time. The tournament is organized and managed by the Visit Maldives Club (VMC) of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
