Team Baakee has secured the championship title for the K. Huraa leg of this year's Ooredoo Maldives Masrace.
In the fishing competition held on the 22nd of this month in K. Huraa, 19 teams from the Male' region competed, with Team Baakee winning the championship by securing a total of 544.5 points. The team was awarded a cash prize of 25,000 MVR.
With 489.8 points, Team Nora took second place and received 10,000 MVR, while Team Anantara secured third place with 370 points and was awarded a cash prize of 5,000 MVR.
In addition to the top placements, special prizes were also awarded during the Masrace. Malaz from Team Anantara, who caught the heaviest fish, was awarded an 8-bar prize. He caught a 20.6 kg grouper. Furthermore, special prizes were given to the best male and female fishers. Ziyad from Club MTCC, who won the best male fisher title by catching 36 fish, received a PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster (H/D) fishing rod sponsored by High Fishing. Ameena from STELCO Kanbalun, who won the best female fisher title by catching 7 fish, was also gifted a PIO Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster (H/D) fishing rod sponsored by High Fishing.
To celebrate Ooredoo's 20th anniversary, this year's Masrace is being held in K. Huraa and Sh. Funadhoo. This marks the 16th edition of the Ooredoo Masrace.
