The National Meteorological Centre has predicted strong winds and rough seas across all areas of the Maldives for the next five days starting this coming Monday.
The Met Office stated that the Southwest Monsoon is expected to intensify over the Maldives region. Therefore, from Monday, June 9th, for the next five days, it is predicted that winds will generally be strong, seas will be rough, and it will rain across the Maldives region.
Winds are expected to blow generally between 13 to 23 miles per hour. The Met Office also stated that winds could gust between 40 to 45 miles per hour during showers, seas will be rough, and some islands may experience tidal swells during high tide.
As the weather is expected to worsen over the next five days, the Met Office has urged everyone, especially seafarers, to be cautious of the weather. They have also urged taking precautionary measures to stay safe from potential dangers and minimize damage caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall.
