Strong winds and rough seas forecast for the next three days

Strong winds and rough seas have been forecast across various parts of the Maldives for the next three days.

The National Meteorological Centre stated that the southwest monsoon is expected to intensify across different regions of the Maldives over the next three days. Therefore, rain is expected across various parts of the country during these days, with thunderstorms likely in some islands. As strong winds and rough seas are also anticipated, the authority has urged seafarers to remain attentive and stay updated with the latest weather information.

Forecasting the weather until 10:00 am tomorrow, the National Meteorological Centre stated that showers and thunderstorms are expected across various areas, with heavy rainfall possible in some islands. Winds are forecast to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 8 to 18 miles per hour. The National Meteorological Centre also noted that winds could gust up to 35 miles per hour during showers.

The authority predicts that seas will be moderately rough, becoming rough during showers. Wave heights are estimated to be between 3 to 6 feet.
