The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast strong winds and rough seas for the next three days.
In a weather alert issued this morning, the authority stated that due to the strengthening of the Southwest Monsoon over the Maldives region, rain is expected across various parts of the country starting from this afternoon for the next three days, accompanied by strong winds and rough seas.
According to the alert, from today until the end of Thursday, rain and thunderstorms are expected across different parts of the Maldives, with heavy rainfall likely in some islands. Furthermore, winds are expected to strengthen, with gusts becoming even stronger, and seas will be rough, becoming very rough during squalls.
As the weather is expected to deteriorate, the Maldives Meteorological Service has urged everyone, especially travelers, to stay updated with the latest weather information and exercise caution. The authority has currently issued a White Alert from HA Atoll to M Atoll.
