State Trading Organization (STO) has stated that fuel sales at the Hulhumale shed were halted due to a bowser overheating.
Due to the unavailability of diesel, many fishing vessels are currently docked in the Hulhumale lagoon, unable to depart for fishing. These include vessels from Male' as well as vessels from various parts of the Maldives that came to weigh fish at Ensis and sell fish in this region.
Regarding the issue of vessels not receiving diesel today, when contacted, STO stated that fuel sales came to a halt because the FSM fuel bowser overheated. STO also said that the issue will be resolved within the next half an hour and they will resume selling diesel to the vessels.
