Special fish filleting competition for women in Ungoofaaru to mark Fishermen's Day!

To mark this year's Fishermen's Day, an additional opportunity has been given to participate in the fish filleting competition held specially for women, jointly organized by the Ungoofaaru Council and the Ungoofaaru Women's Development Committee.

The council initially opened the opportunity to participate in this competition, scheduled to be held on December 6, on the 4th of this month. Although it was open for participation until November 10, the council stated that an adequate number of teams had not participated. Therefore, the council has today given an additional opportunity for those interested in participating in this competition.

The council stated that under this newly given opportunity, those interested in participating in this competition are requested to complete the application form to participate in the fishing competition and submit it to the Ungoofaaru Council Office before 13:30 on Sunday, November 23. The council stated that the application form to participate in the competition will be issued from the council office between 10:30 and 13:30 on all non-public holidays.

The details of how the winners will be selected and the prizes awarded to the winners of this competition, which is specially held for women over 18 years of age living in Ungoofaaru, have also been made public now. The things that will be looked at in the fish filleting competition include not leaving thick flesh on the bone, filleting the fish in the cleanest and most hygienic way, finishing filleting the fish the fastest, and having the filleting area cleaned when finished.

Fish filleting competition winners:

• 1st place winner: 1000 Rufiyaa
• 2nd place winner: 700 Rufiyaa
• 3rd place winner: 500 Rufiyaa

A fishing competition is also scheduled to be held in Ungoofaaru to mark Fishermen's Day. The fish caught by the teams in that fishing competition are scheduled to be used in this competition. In that regard, 3 or 4 fish of the same size and type from the fish caught by the teams in the fishing competition will be taken by the committee.
