Special event "Everyone to the Sea" launched to mark World Oceans Day

A special nationwide event named "Everyone to the Sea" has been conducted to mark World Oceans Day.

The Ministry of Fisheries stated that many islands participated in this event, which was organized so that everyone from all islands of the Maldives would go into the sea at the same time to engage in various water sports.

This most important event, "Everyone to the Sea", involving the whole of the Maldives in a single spirit, was launched during the Ocean Fest held in Hulhumale today to mark Oceans Day. The Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, and the Managing Director of HDC, Brigadier General (Retd) Ali Zuhair, also participated in this event. Additionally, senior officials of the Ministry and representatives from government companies took part.

This is a very special event conducted jointly by city councils, island councils, various state institutions, and many citizens to highlight the importance of the Maldives' oceans and reefs.

To mark this year's World Oceans Day, special activities are being held today under the name "Ocean Festival". The Ministry stated that this festival, which runs from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm at the Dhiraagu Beach area in Hulhumale, will feature various water sports for children and stalls showcasing the work of different offices and companies in a child-friendly manner.
