Southern Seas Expected to be Rough Today

The National Meteorological Centre has forecast rough seas in the southern region of the Maldives today.

A White Alert has been issued by the National Meteorological Centre from 08:00 to 14:00 today for the southern atolls of GA, GDh, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City.

During the alert period, winds are expected to be between 19 and 24 miles per hour in these four atolls. Additionally, winds may gust up to 40 miles per hour during showers, and seas are expected to be rough.

With bad weather forecast across various parts of the Maldives today and tomorrow, weather alerts are being issued for different regions. A Yellow Alert is currently in effect from R Atoll to ADh Atoll. The alert, valid until 11:30, forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms for these atolls.

As the weather has deteriorated across all regions of the Maldives, the National Meteorological Centre has urged everyone to remain cautious of the weather.
