A girl who came to the Maldives to conduct whale shark research has died.
The 15-year-old Singaporean girl, who was on a study tour for whale shark research, died while snorkeling in ADh. Dhigurah this morning.

According to the police, the girl was injured when she jumped into the sea from the dhoni for snorkeling and was hit by the boat's propeller. She was taken to the island's health centre, and police quoted the health centre as saying she was already dead when brought in.
Police stated that the case is being investigated further.
