Ahmed Shafiu, who served as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, has resigned from his post.
Shafiu revealed his resignation in a post shared on social media. In the post, he stated that he resigned effective today in the hope that matters would be resolved. However, he did not specify what those matters were.
Shafiu, who began working at the Fisheries Ministry during the previous MDP government, was appointed as Deputy Minister of Fisheries by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on December 30, 2023. Shafiu is known to be a very close associate of Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam.
