Senior Fisheries Ministry officials meet with delegation from China's Third Institute of Oceanography

Senior officials of the Fisheries Ministry have met with a visiting delegation from China's Third Institute of Oceanography currently in the Maldives.

State Minister Mohamed Muttalib, State Minister Aminath Hussain Shareef, and other senior officials of the Ministry participated in the meeting held at the Ministry yesterday.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on ways to collaborate in areas of marine research prioritized by both parties.

The meeting concluded with the exchange of a Letter of Intent expressing interest in collaborative work between the Maldives Marine Research Institute, operating under the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, and China's Third Institute of Oceanography. The Fisheries Ministry noted that this further strengthens the mutual support of both countries to work together in the fields of scientific research, sustainable fisheries, and the management of marine resources.
