The Ministry of Fisheries has announced that it is seeking a party to manage the events held to celebrate this year's Fishermen's Day.
According to the Ministry of Fisheries' announcement, the opportunity is now open for interested parties to submit price proposals after clarifying information from the Ministry to manage the main official events held to celebrate Fishermen's Day, which are the official Fishermen's Day ceremony and the cooking competition.
If you wish to clarify information, it will be arranged by visiting the Ministry (Velaanaage 2nd floor) at 13:00 on Thursday, 30 October 2025. The submission of estimates will be held at the Ministry (Velaanaage 7th floor) at 11:00 on Tuesday, 09 November 2025, according to the Ministry's announcement. The Ministry stated that estimates submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
The government has decided to hold this year's official Fishermen's Day activities in R. Dhuvaafaru. The Ministry states that many activities are planned to be held on the island on December 12-13 to celebrate Fishermen's Day. The cooking competition 'Rahavaru', which is among the main activities, will be held from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm on December 13 in an outdoor area of Dhuvaafaru. Also, the official Fishermen's Day ceremony will be held at 08:30 pm that night.
Every year, December 10 is celebrated as Fishermen's Day. Fishermen's Day is celebrated at the national level with the aim of appreciating Maldivian fishermen and encouraging their work. This year marks the 45th Fishermen's Day.
