Seeking a party to prepare arches and banners to celebrate Fishermen's Day

R. Dhuvaafaru, the designated host for this year's Fishermen's Day, has begun preparations for the day's celebrations.

As the Dhuvaafaru Council prepares for Fishermen's Day, one of the tasks is to install fisheries-related arches (gidige) and banners in various areas of the island. The council has now opened the opportunity for interested parties to submit estimates for preparing the arches and banners. Registration for the bid is open until 11:00 today. The pre-bid meeting will also be held today at 11:00.

The council stated that parties wishing to participate in the bid can fill out the registration form and submit it to the council office reception. Alternatively, it can be sent to the office's email address procurement@dhuvaafaru.gov.mv. The council noted that parties who do not register for the bid will not be given the opportunity to submit bids.

The submission of estimates will take place on Wednesday, the 29th of this month, at 11:00 at the council office. The council stated that estimates from parties who arrive late to submit them will not be accepted.

December 10th of every year is celebrated as Fishermen's Day. Fishermen's Day is celebrated at a national level to appreciate Maldivian fishermen and encourage their work.

This year marks the 45th Fishermen's Day. The official celebrations for this year's Fishermen's Day will be held in R. Dhuvaafaru. Three awards are scheduled to be given at the ceremony held on the occasion of this year's Fishermen's Day. They are the Experienced Skipper, the Outstanding Young Skipper, and the Outstanding Reef Fisherman awards.
