The National Meteorological Service has stated that seas are expected to be very rough tonight and tomorrow.

In a weather alert issued today, the agency stated that the southwest monsoon has intensified over the Maldives region, bringing rain to a large part of the central and northern atolls over the past 24 hours, with heavy rainfall in some atolls. The agency also stated that due to this weather, general winds will be strong and seas will be very rough tonight and tomorrow, especially in the northern and central atolls.

Therefore, the National Meteorological Service has urged everyone, especially seafarers in the central and northern atolls, to stay updated with the latest weather information and to pay special attention to necessary safety measures.

The National Meteorological Service has currently issued a White Alert for some northern and central atolls. A White Alert has been issued from HA. Atoll to R. Atoll and from V. Atoll to Th. Atoll until 11:00 pm tonight, forecasting winds between 22 mph and 27 mph and rough seas.
